Doctor Who Personalise Your Sonic Screwdriver Set: mix and match components to create your own version of the Doctor's all-purpose tool!
The ultimate collector's item for the true sonic-holic, this set allows you to design your own personalised sonic screwdriver. Each of the sonic's four parts comes with a selection of three versions - that's more than eighty possible styles! – and there are multiple sound and light effects to choose from.
Here's how the set works: you get three ready-made sonic screwdrivers each of which can be disassembled into four parts - emitter, controls, power source, and base – for a total of twelve pieces. You could start by putting together the Eleventh Doctor's usual sonic. Then replace its power source with a chunky white one or black textured grip – just twist and click into place. Switch its familiar controls for a sci-fi silver-and-blue barrel with Gallifreyan text or a fashionable steampunk design with light-up gauge, also with that mysterious Time Lord writing. And/or swap the emitter – the business end of the sonic! – for a blue and silver cylinder-and-ring array, or a bronze conical section topped by a transparent globe cradling a green blub.
So many parts to choose from! According to my calculations, that's exactly eighty-one distinct possibilities – eighty-one different possible sonic screwdrivers. Mix and match until you've customised the perfect one to go with your costume (A future Doctor? A fellow renegade Time Lord?) or just to show off to your mates.
But that's not all. As the Doctor told Craig in The Lodger, sonic equals sound! The kit is capable of producing a total of eight different electronic sounds, activated by pressing the button the corresponding number of times. And the LEDs flash differently for every sound. Pick and mix your own truly individual Doctor Who sound and light show!
For even more components, grab the Trans-Temporal Sonic Screwdriver – it's fully compatible with the set! (Requires 4 LR44 button cell batteries – demo batteries included. Ages 5 and up.)
