Pre-Order Policies

Important! Please note that the collectible toy industry is notorious for late releases so we do not recommend pre-ordering items with the intentions of having them in time for a specific date(Birthdays, Holidays, etc) unless you are prepared for the possibility of it not being released to us by the manufacturer in time.

What is a Pre-Order?

It is an item that has not been released yet. We allow you to pre-book this item and we will ship to you when it has been released. Some very hot and limited items will pre-sell out and never make it to the shelf after we have filled all pre-orders. Pre-Ordering is a great way to guarantee yourself a spot in line to receive an item and also save some money on the retail price. When merchandise arrives we fill Pre-Orders first! If you Pre-Order a product and the price drops, we charge you the lower price. You cannot lose by Pre-Ordering with ToysOnFire.ca!

Placing Your Order

To place a pre-order simply add-to-cart the items you would like that have a pre-order status indicator on them and check out your order. Please note that our website will not allow you to order in-stock items in the same cart as pre-order items.
 

Pre-Order Payment

We have different options for payment depending on the size of your order. These options will be handled automatically during checkout.

Orders with a Total LESS than $100:  This order must be paid in full at the time of checkout. Please note that this payment contains a 15% non-refundable deposit.

Orders with a Total MORE than $100: You have the option to pay the entire order now, or you may pay the 15% non-refundable deposit now and 85% on the release of the item. *Please note that if you choose the second option we will charge your provided card information the remaining 85% when the item releases that you must notify us if your payment or contact information changes before your order ships. Please also note that if your final payment fails to process we will notify you that you have 1 week to contact us with updated payment information. Failure to do so within the week of us contacting you will result in the cancellation of your order and the loss of your 15% deposit.

Shipping / Local Pickup of Pre-Orders

Shipping: If you are having multiple pre-order items shipped to you and they arrive here at different times, we will hold the items for you until all arrive so they can ship together. Each time we put items on hold we will email you to keep you up to date on the status of your order. At any time you may choose to contact us and we can ship part of your order at the cost an additional shipping fee.

Local Pickup: If your shipping address is in Ontario, this option will be available on checkout. You may pickup your order from our Ottawa location when it is ready. If you pre-order multiple items with different release dates, or ones that happen to come in at different times, we will process them individually as they come in for you. If you live outside of Ontario and would still like to pickup your order from our Ottawa location, please set your shipping address as our address and the option for pickup will appear: Toys on Fire Ottawa, 3-130 RioCan Ave, Ottawa, Ontario, K2J 5G4. Please note that all pickup orders are subject to Ontario tax, even if you are coming from a different province to pick it up. Each item will be reserved for pickup at our Ottawa location for a maximum of 365 days, failure to pick your item(s) up within this timeframe will result in the cancellation of your reservation and subject to a 50% restocking fee.
 

Release Dates

All release dates are subject to change by the manufacturer(s). The shipping dates listed are based on information that we receive from the manufacturers. We try to provide the most accurate ship dates we can, however we have no control over when the manufacturer actually releases a product. Please note that the collectible toy industry is notorious for late releases so we do not recommend pre-ordering items with the intentions of having them in time for a specific date(Birthdays, Holidays, etc) unless you are prepared for the possibility of it not being released to us by the manufacturer in time.
 

The CAD/USD Exchange Rate (Non-Pre-Paid orders only)

All of our prices are in Canadian dollars. However, a large portion of the items we sell come through the United States and this affects the final price at the release time of an item. For pre-orders, we have to predict what this rate will be sometimes up to 1 year in advance. Because doing this accurately can be very difficult we reserve the right to adjust the final price of your items ordered if the exchange rate changes more than 10% from the date when you ordered the item to when it is released. If you have pre-paid for your pre-order this does not apply to you.
 

Cancellation of Pre-Orders

When you place your pre-order, we place a deposit and commit to getting those items in for you from the manufacturer. When an order is cancelled by a customer, we cannot cancel the order from the manufacturer.

For that reason, the 15% non-refundable deposit (NRD) placed on the order will be witheld from any applicable refund due to customer cancellation of pre-ordered items. We encourage you to pre-order your items in advance to help secure your item when it arrives in stock, but we ask that you be completely sure that you want the item before placing a pre-order.

If an item is more than 6 months late from the release-date projection at the time of your order you may contact us to cancel your order without penalty.
